SIMA Innovation Award 2011 "Gold Medal" for the I-ROTOR

This rotative sprinkler is equiped with a rotary function acted by an electric engine. So, the water pressure is fully used for the jet stream in order to get a wider scope. Pressure energy is not required for the rotation.

Also with the same throw diameter the pressure can be reduced by 30%.

The objective of this I-Rotor is to guarantee less precipitation rates at the end of the pivots by reducing  the instantaneous precipitation rate and by reducing the risk of damage and water -logging of soil by compaction and runoff and, therefore controlling the intensity of water applications. 

The speed rotation can be adjusted in view to change the size of the drops according to the type of plants, the type of soil and the speed of the wind.

The reduction of pressure leads to saving on water and energy and generates greater efficiency for irrigation and fertigation. The risks for the environment are limited  (no run off to ground water or river).
